Nebraska 2 Nashville meets the third Saturday of every month at the Waverly SportsPage in Waverly, Neb. (13631 Energy Way), 1-4 p.m. or 2-5 p.m. Chair Robert DeBusk leads us in an interactive, hands-on songwriting lesson provided by the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI). Then, we have the opportunity to read our lyrics or play or perform one of our originals and receive constructive, peer evaluation. There is no charge for NSAI members to attend the monthly meetings. Non-NSAI members can attend two monthly meetings at no charge; after that, cost is only $15 per meeting. Once or twice a year, we host full-day workshops with pro songwriters from major music centers where participants learn the craft and business of songwriting. It's a great opportunity to spend the day with pros who, once upon a time, were in our shoes--pros who have many hit songs under their belts and who love to work with aspiring songwriters. |
